APPEARANCE Terra stands at 5'7", and casts a striking pose. Her hair, which could easily reach the length of her shoulder blades, is always pinned back in ponytail fashion. Her hair colour is always up for debate, with people who meet her believing it to be anywhere from a dirty blond to a pale green. It trails behind her in waves, with some shorter layers framing her face in front.
Clothing-wise, she wears a red top, that actually extends past her hips, and rear, acting like a sort of maxi-shirt dress. Her lengs are covered in white tights that scatter little decorations throughout in a pattern. Her boots match the red of her top, and the heels of them give her a little extra height.
Around her waist, she fastens the sheath of her sword around her with several scarves. At her neck, she wears a necklace that also supports an iridescent-like cape that hangs behind her. She also has fingerless gloves that climb up to end around her mid-bicep.
When she is able to take control of her Esper form however, her appearance changes entirely... Her meek-seeming expression is entirely lost to the feral nature of the beast, whose body seems to be entirely white-almost leaning towards a pale pink. You can't be sure if it's fur or skin that covers her body; and she certainly won't let you close enough to find out. Her hair is unkept and wild, seemingly jutting out every which way.
Her nails could, in this form, be considered as claws, and even her teeth appear to be more "monsterous" than her human form.

PERSONALITY Terra is a young woman very unsure of herself. Having just recently been given the chance to think freely for herself, she is trying hard to learn the ways of the world, and quickly. There are occasions when she will let her steel will shine through, but she also has her fair share of moments of uncertainty. She can lash out with the rage of a woman scorned, or even be as curious as a child. Looking to be her own person, it is not often that you will See her rely on others to show her the way.
While trying her best to understand the workings of the planet and its people, Terra keeps herself immensely guarded. Having been used all her life for her abilties, she finds it very hard to trust others and can take sometime to warm up to people. She is not cold towards them however, just cautious.
Being that she is half-esper, she also has some choice opinions of herself that she would only be inclined to share with those that she has established some sort of bond with. She is quite worried that she doesn't seem to think and feel like a normal human would, especially when it comes to the most complex emotion of them all, love. In reality, Terra wants nothing more than to understand and experience "love" for herself. And sadly, she believes that based on her heritage, this may not be possible...
Terra seems to be shrouded in a bit of a melancholy air, although she is trying her best to break free from the shackles of her past.

ABILITIES / WEAPONS / STRENGTHS Having been in the custody of the Empire since she was two years old, Terra is a very experienced soldier. She underwent rigrous training from a very early age, so that she was a force to be reckoned with both magically and physically.
She chooses to equip herself with lighter swords, rapier sorts really, so as to maintain a certain level of agility in battle.
She is the only person able to use magic naturally, and possesses some rather powerful spells; Fire spells from levels one to three, Bolt and Ice spells of the same, Haste and Cure. The esper that she carries is that of her father; Maduin.
Of course, there is also her Esper form to contend with. While morphed, the damage that she deals, both physical and magical, is doubled. However, she has yet to master control over this form...

WEAKNESSES When all is said and done, because of her hesitations, Terra has a bit of a weak heart. She had to be convinced to join forces with the Returners, and even then was reluctant to do so. She very much is just looking to find herself; and doesn't necessairily want to have the weight of the world on her shoulders. She isn't heartless, she just afraid, really.
She is also prone to manipulation, as seen in the past. Because there is still so much that she has to learn, and although she doesn't trust easily, it more than likely still wouldn't be too difficult to deceive her.
All of this; just because she's still trying to find her place in the world.

HISTORY Terra is one of a kind. Her father, Maduin, was an Esper, a magically infused being of great power. The Espers lived in their own realm, having fled there many years before after the War of the Magi; where humans sought to claim their magic for themselves, by killing them. There was a sealed gate on their territory, which one day was accidently stumbled upon by a human...
Madonna, perhaps a bit of an unconventional woman, accidently invaded their sacred land one day. As she recovered, she found peace in this world, alongside Maduin, who had rescued her. "You don't have to leave," he told her.
She never looked back.
Some time passed, and Terra was born. Unfortunately, again the Esper World was discovered by humans. This time, Emperor Gesthal led his army there, seeking power beyond imagination with which he would control the world. The Esper Elder cast a powerful spell, ejecting the humans from their territory.
Madonna, having overheard some of the Espers blaming her for this occurrance, fled towards the gate with Maduin trailing behind to stop her. Sadly, it was too late, and baby Terra was whisked away from the Esper World, her parents following suit as the gateway back was sealed. Forver.
Battleworn and weak, Maduin was unconscious as the injured Madonna begged him to leave her daughter alone. Realizing who and what she was, Gesthal killed Madonna, and stole her child.
With a Slave Crown placed on her, Terra's free will was surpressed as she grew older. She was used as a weapon by the empire, decimating numerous soldiers that she encountered in her exercises, and missions. Kefka, one of the Emperor's right hand men, largely oversaw her upbringing and training. She was a force to be reckoned with.
As time passed, imformation was brought to Gesthal that there was the possibility of an Esper hidden in the caves of the mining town, Narshe. Terra and two other soldiers were dispatched to investigate the rumour.
There was truth behind it, and when the three approached the creature, something strange seemed to resonate within the emotionless Terra. Stepping forward, the two that had accompanied her were quickly taken care of, as she seemed to communicate with the beast...
From this, she woke up inside the house of a man named Arvis. She couldn't remember anything but her name. After-effects of the slave crown, he explained to her. When the Empire came knocking, knowing she was there, he helped her to escape, much to Terra's confusion. She fled to the caves, and was again rescused and helped by another young man, this time, the treasure-seeking Locke. He vowed to help her and stay with her until she regained her memories.
Still, Terra couldn't understand why he wanted to help her.
She travelled with Locke, knowing that he sided with a rebel group called the Returners. As they continued, she also met Edgar, the engineer king of Figaro, and his long-lost twin brother, Sabin. They also encountered Banon, the leader of the Returners, who tried his best to convince Terra to join their cause. By now, more people hand joined up with their group -- the honourable Cyan who mourned the loss of his family, and the wild boy from the Velt, Gau. Perhaps the biggest surprise recruit was the former Imperial General, Celes Chere.
Finally relenting, Terra joined in their cause and sought to try and communicate with the Esper that lay dormant in Narshe. It was then that her terrifying powers were awakened...
Her skin and hair changed, she lost control over herself and her powers, as the feral beast that her body had transformed into took to the skies. She ran wild, encased in fire, finally winding up in Zozo, under the care of Ramuh.
Ramuh was actually an Esper himself, who recounted the sordid history of Espers and humans to the group. Trusting them, and encouraging them to trust in Terra, he gave up his physical form to transform himself into the substance known as Magicite; so that the group would be blessed with the power of magic. He also entrusted to them, the lives of several of his comrades.
As their journey continued, Terra began to realize that the people she was surrounding herself with weren't interested in just her abilities, afterall. She began to warm up to her new-found friends, realizing that they were there to help her, as well.
She joined in their cause, even going so far as to try and seek the help of the Espers at their sealed gate. However, things didn't really go as planned, as the Espers that broke through the seal lost control of their powers, and ran amok, taking the lives of many people of Vector, the Imperial Capital.
Believing that he was interested in peace, Terra agreed to go and try to reason with the Espers, only to be double crossed by the Emperor, who had Kefka kill the Espers that remained in their world.
Drunk with power, the Emperor and Kefka then rose to the flying continent -- where the group raced to pursue them.
